My son has been diagnosed over the phone with swine flu. Should I give him Tamiflu?

You should follow the doctors advice. You can't be diagnosed over the phone. It requires a test available at the doctors. There's no way to tell if it's the regular flu or swine flu without that test. Call the doctor and let them know and they can suggest the best course of action. Most people are not recommended Tamiflu if they have no other underlying health problems. Did the doctor tell you not to bring him in? They usually have a way to get him in without infecting others. Most doctors' offices provide medical masks for those people who are coughing or possibly infected. Only they can answer your questions. Not taking your child to the doctors when they have swine flu is rather stupid. No offense to you, but this is a very serious illness and children have a much higher mortality rate with it than adults. Please, take your child in if they're still sick and save yourself the worry and possible consequences.
