I have a weird condom brand and i need help on proper way to use it?

i usualy use life styles condoms but my friend gave me some free trojan condoms and i opened one to use it and it was dry. I was really confused so i went into the bathroom and got it a little wet and i could feel the lubricant. I was wondering if that is what your supposed to do?
